Macadamia are graded and the grades are called "Style" A style "Zero" or "0" is a large whole Macadamia with little or no imperfections and are generally 21-24 mm in diameter. A "1" or may have some imperfections and may be smaller. "2" onwards have varying degrees and percentages of broken.

In Japan, Macadamia oil is popular in cosmetics.

In Hawaii, they called it Mauna Loa after the largest volcano on earth. This name is now use for a brand which is one of the first producers of macadamias that was grown there. However Macadamia nuts are not from this island, indeed they made its way around 1881.
