Usage
Used in chowders, sauces, tomato dishes, salads and in stuffing mixes. Can be added to complement the flavour of corn and green beans.
Ancient Romans were complementing their cheeses or flavouring their alcoholic beverages with Thyme.
Sprinkle some over tomato soup to add flavour and texture.
Lemon juice when mixed with thyme is great on chicken, fish, and dairy dishes.
Medicinal Powers?
Fresh thyme is a natural antiseptic aa it is rich in thymol. It can be used to treat coughs and colds and may help clear congestion.
The aroma is said to dispel melancholy and nightmares.
Fresh thyme should not be consumed by pregnant women as may induce premature labour

It may kill mosquito larvae when added to water.
Used extensively in Ancient Egyptian and Etruscan times as an antiseptic when preparing the dead for embalming.
It is said that the hay used to make a bed for the Virgin Mary and the Christ Child, included Thyme.
