Usage
Burghul can be used in pilaffs, soups, bakery goods, or as stuffing. In breads it adds a wholegrain component. It is usually an ingredient of Mediterranean cooking.
It has a mild, nutty taste and a chewy texture.

Compared to un-enriched white rice, Burghul has more fibre and protein, has a lower glycaemic index and a higher level of vitamins and minerals.
It may help to reduce the risk of inflammatory effects, fight diabetes and improve digestion.
Fun Facts
It is the main ingredient in "Tabbouleh Salad'.
Burghul is a Persian word meaning "bruised grain."
