In 334 before current era, Darius III of Persia sent Alexander the Great a bag of sesame seeds, which symbolised the huge numbers of his army. Alexander returned a bag of mustard seeds to demonstrate not only the number but also the power and the energy of his men.
Mustard seeds can produce two type of oils : hot mustard oil and mild mustard oil. For the first one, the mustard seeds are soaked in water before pressing, while for the second one, they use a cold-pressing method so that the enzyme of heat is not activated.
