Herbs
A culinary herb is generally the leafy part of the plant that is used to season food. It can be the whole leaf, chopped or ground.
Spices
Generally, a Culinary Spice is the seed, stem, root or fruit of the plant that is used to flavour food. It can be whole, diced or ground. Most spices are used as an ingredient when cooking. Care should be taken consuming uncooked spices.
Seasonings
A blend of Spices and Herbs designed to impart flavour to meat and vegetables. Some may contian allergens such as gluten or nightshades. Check before using.
Special Blends
Generally we define a special blend as a product that combines spices with seeds and nuts.
Cooking Products
The generic term "Cooking Products" is for products in our range that whilst used in cooking, don't fall into the other categories.
Seed & Grain
Eatable seeds and grains that generally come from grass type plants.
Beans & Peas
Beans belong to the family of plants called legumes, which produce seeds in a pod called a pulse. Beans are usually oval or kidney shaped, peas are round and lentils are flat disks.
Flour
Flour is a powder which is made by grinding cereal grains, or other seeds or roots. (Other than spices or herbs)
Nuts
Eatable nuts that come from trees and or legumes such as peanuts. They can be eaten raw or roasted. It is recommended to eat about 30g per day.
Dried Fruit
Fruit which has been dried and preserved including tropical fruit.
